Courageous Survivors

The Lisa Johnson Foundation defines a Courageous Survivor as:

1.) Someone who has experienced the death or injury of a family member or friend due to a motor vehicle crash.
2.) Someone who has personally experienced trauma and injury from a motor vehicle crash.

cour·age (kûr’ĭj, kŭr’-)
n. The state or quality of mind or spirit that enables one to face danger and fear with inner strength, confidence, and resolution; bravery.

sur·vive (sər-vīv’)

v.

1. to remain alive after the death of someone, the cessation of something, or the occurrence of some event; continue to live.

2. to remain functional or usable.

3. to carry on despite hardship or trauma; persevere.

    I had not thought of myself as a survivor before. But I guess I am. I am surviving without my daughter. And your are right………..it takes alot of courage to continue. Especially to continue and honor her with my days, as she would want me to.
